Statement of Faith
Our foundation is:
- There is one true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
- The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, and His miracles. We also believe in His victorious and atoning death through His bloodshed on Calvary, in His bodily resurrection, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
- In the blessed hope and imminent and personal return of Jesus Christ to earth in power and glory.
- In the fall and sinfulness of man, the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the redeeming blood of Christ.
- We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. This salvation is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord—not as a result of man’s good works.
- We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is able to live a holy life.
- Corporate prayer is necessary and divine healing is available through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross.
- The Church of Jesus Christ is the universal, spiritual body of believers from every tribe, tongue, kindred and race of peoples.
- In the resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting damnation.
- In the new heavens and the new earth and the holy Jerusalem, the city of God, descending out of heaven and filled with the glory of God.
- Marriage is God-ordained. “The creator made them male and female, and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” Marriage is to be an exclusive relationship, a lifelong faithful union between a man and a woman. This relationship between a husband and wife should parallel the relationship between Christ and the Church.
Core Beliefs
“All the believers continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
We believe:
- In the necessity and power of consistent corporate prayer. (Matt 18:19-20)
- In the call of all believers to get involved in works of ministry to bring glory to Jesus Christ by sharing His love on earth; that the ministry gifts of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer are to be used according to the will and purpose of God. (1 Cor. 12)
- In the need of believers to remain connected to others with a commitment to love and be loved, to build lifelong friendships, and develop a community of believers that provoke one another toward the grace and mercy of God. (Phil. 2:1-4)
- “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James 1:27 NIV)
- We practice two lasting ordinances: (1) Water Baptism by immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving the gift of salvation. And (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.
